My name is Eis Maurer. I grew up in Germany. My father chose mining as a career worked in the mines of Rammelsberg until it was closed down sometime in 1988. Danger was an every day thing for him. 12 hour work days. Filthy clothes. Chronic respiratory issues. Still, if you asked him if he had any regrets, he would say no. Not my thing. When we moved to America I found my niche – I’ve always loved the ocean. I became a certified diver by the age of 19 and have been diving ever since. As a PADI instructor, I get paid for doing something I love. My first cave dive was in 2010 and I fell in love with the sport. Since then, I’ve traveled around the world seeking out cave diving adventures.
I also very much adore my golden retriever, Jaba. He likes the water too. If he could cave dive, he would.
