Welcome to the ICEM BASF networks page.
ICEM has two regional BASF networks for unions organising within BASF, one in the Latin American region, set up in 1999, and one in the Asia Pacific region, set up in 2000.
These networks of the 20-million-strong International Federation of Chemical, Energy, Mine and General Workers' Unions (ICEM), aim to promote solidarity, mutual support and information exchange between BASF workers and their unions on a regional and worldwide basis.

A 4 January pipeline leak of some 4.5 tonnes of the chemical hexamethylene diamine (HMDA) at a BASF nylon intermediates plant near Bellingham, Teesside UK, was termed a “major incident,” causing injuries to 37 workers, including one worker still in serious condition at a North-East UK hospital.
