ICEM Global Framework Agreement with Statoil
The ICEM and Norwegian oil and gas producer Statoil signed an agreement in July 1998 in coordination with Norsk Olje og Petrokjemisk Fagforbund (NOPEF), the Norwegian trade union. It was the ICEM's first Global Agreement. It covers all trade union rights, health, safety and environmental commitments, and provides for internal training programmes for such. It was renewed and improved upon in March 2001, and further updated and strengthened in August 2003 and June 2005.

Pointed with direction from ICEM Norwegian affiliate Industri Energi, the Nordic country's national labour centre, LO, has advised state oil company Statoil not to open an office in Iraq.
