ICEM Global Framework Agreement with Freudenberg
The ICEM and German rubber and plastics producer Freudenberg Group signed a Global Agreement in June 2000, and it was renewed in 2002. German affiliate IG BCE is also signatory to the agreement. The agreement spells out minimum labour standards that the company will adhere to including all ILO Core Conventions that embrace trade union rights, workplace equality, protection of health, safety and environmental criteria, and bans on child labour and forced labour. The agreement also contains Social Responsibility language, specifically that the company condemns involvement in unethical or illegal business and that as a matter of principle, privately-held Freudenberg will produce no weapons or war materials.
